RMC (Ready Mix Concrete)

Definition

Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) is concrete that is batched and mixed at a central plant and delivered to construction sites in transit mixers, ready for immediate use.

Explained Simply

RMC ensures more consistent concrete quality than site-mixed concrete because it is prepared in a controlled environment with accurate proportions, tested aggregates, and quality cement. For large pours like slabs and columns, RMC significantly reduces quality variability. Each RMC delivery should be accompanied by a delivery challan stating the mix design, cement content, water-cement ratio, and specified grade.
